Distinct Collectibles is an online retailer dedicated to celebrating through sculpture the unique quality of greatness possessed by a handful of individuals. The selected individuals will have exhibited an enormous influence within their field, as well as a commitment to others. The company’s first product is “Running onto the Field,” a remarkable statue of Joe Paterno, the longtime Penn State football coach, which is a replica of the iconic statue that once stood outside of Penn State’s Beaver Stadium.
Michael Flanagan - Partner
Michael is a proud graduate of Pennsylvania State University and has spent the better part of the last 20 years in the financial services industry. He founded First Affiliated Investment Group in 1993 and served as President and CEO until it was acquired by Vist Financial in 2002. Afterwards, Michael was named to the Board of Directors at Vist Capital Management on which he served from 2002 to 2010. In addition, he founded First Affiliated Insurance Group in 1998 which was later acquired in 2004. He is currently the President and Chief Executive Officer of Flanagan Capital Management. He and his wife, Megan, live in State College, PA, with their three children.
Tom Heck - Partner
Tom is the owner of Heck Brothers, a full-service florist which has served the city of Reading and Berks County for the last 107 years. Heck Brothers, is a third-generation family-owned business with deep roots in the community. Mr. Heck was a member of the Kutztown University Foundation Board from July 2002 through June 2011 and has served as a trustee on the Kutztown University Council since June 2012.

Jim is the co-founder and chairman of Environmental Waste Management which provides consulting services to hospitals and labs in Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware. The company is based in Reading, PA. Jim holds a Ph.D in Business Administration (Finance) and in addition to his business responsibilities is a long-time college professor whose specialty is economics and finance. He has taught at West Chester University, Duquesne University, Alvernia College and Penn State Universtiy (Berks). Jim is a resident of Reading, PA.
